Before ordering, please read our Terms and Conditions.
Please print off our mail order form, fill it in and post it to us with your payment (cheque or postal order).
We'll send your sweets as soon as your payment has cleared, which means that your sweets will normally reach you 1½-2 weeks after you post your order.
If you don't have access to a printer, you can simply send us a letter with your order details - please look at the order form first as it will tell you what information we need.
Either way, please remember to include the cost of delivery from the table below.
You may also want to look at our example of a completed mail order form.
All our prices and delivery charges include VAT.
We send all orders by Royal Mail. For Standard Delivery we use Second Class or Standard Parcels, depending on weight. Alternatively, we offer the option of First Class delivery for a slightly higher charge.
The cost of delivery depends on the total price of the sweets that you order:
Total
|
Standard
|
First Class
|
| Up to £3.50 | £2.90 | £3.20 |
| £3.51 - £7.50 | £3.70 | £4.30 |
| £7.51 - £15.00 | £6.10 | £7.90 |
| £15.01 - £30.00 | £9.30 | £11.00 |
| £30.01 and over | £13.50 | £15.50 |
All the above amounts include VAT.
Our delivery charges are based on the true cost to us of sending a typical order (including a small amount to cover the cost of packaging). Our policy is to charge the same sweet prices for mail order as we do in the shop, and therefore our delivery charges have to fully cover our delivery costs. You may have seen other websites with lower delivery charges, but with higher sweet prices because part of the delivery cost is included in the sweet prices.
It may turn out that some orders cost us rather less to send than allowed for in our delivery charges. This is most likely to happen with sweets priced at more than £1 per 100g. If it happens with your order, we will send you a voucher entitling you to free delivery on your next order.
These prices are for delivery within the UK only. Please phone for overseas rates.
At the moment we can only accept orders by post, with payment by cheque or postal order.
We appreciate that this may be inconvenient, especially if you're used to ordering via the internet or by phone, paying by credit card and receiving your goods the next day. However, Caramella is a traditional sweet shop that's starting to offer mail order, not one of the latest "dot com" companies! At present we don't have dedicated staff available to take telephone orders, and we're not equipped to take credit card payments. This will probably change if we find ourselves doing a lot of mail order business, or if our customers tell us they would prefer to order this way.
Of course if you'd rather visit the shop, you'll be very welcome.
If you have any questions, please phone us on 01273 570118 (see here for our opening hours).
Most of our sweets are sold by weight. They're priced per 100 grammes, but you can order whatever weight you want (subject to a minimum of 100 grammes of each sweet).
Here are some metric-to-imperial equivalents:
| 100g | = approx 3½oz |
| 113g | = 4oz (a quarter pound) |
| 227g | = 8oz (half a pound) |
| 454g | = 1lb |
| 1kg = 1000g | = 2.2lb (roughly 2lb 3oz) |
